“Do ordinary things in extra ordinary way”

We turn what was regarded by the society as normal and ordinary things into sustainable business.

1.We use wastes such as saw dust and other industrial and agricultural wastes to produce health and delicious mushrooms which are vital to human health.

2.We rear local or indigenous chickens commercially to meet high demand in the market. Indigenous chickens are poorly reared and undermined by the society, although its big business and play a major roles in social-economic development in Tanzania.

3.We use manure and compost generated from chickens rearing and mushrooms production to produce healthy fruits and vegetables.
Hertu Farms is the project under HERTU Investment company established in Tanzania on 23rd November 2015. Under this project we represent our commitment to investment in sustainable agribusiness; considering the social, cultural, economic and environmental implications of agricultural production and adapt practical and ethical approaches towards maximizing the business aspect of agricultural production and ensure that agricultural production is carried out in a sustainable way, providing jobs, poverty alleviation, and food security and conducted responsibly across the agro-allied business chain, while mainstreaming good environmental best practices.
We work together with all key players in the agribusiness, to identify opportunities that will help scale up agricultural activities in Tanzania and global as a major leverage for attaining the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) regarding poverty reduction. With about 80% of the Tanzania’s labour-force especially youth and women coming from agricultural activities; the project explore the opportunities for sustained growth and socioeconomic development through sustainable agribusiness.
We look beyond food production, but rather, explore sustainable ways through which agricultural activities can support the long term growth and competiveness of Tanzania and globally.
The project lives the following pillars;
    Produce and sell health food to improve health of its customers and community

     Inspire healthful eating

    Offer hands-on learning opportunities; inspiring the community to engage in sustainable agribusiness

      Sustainable living:Use of wastes for producing other products is better for the planet and conserves our natural resources. We emphasize the uses only natural and sustainable farming methods, free from pesticides or fertilizers.  Natural foods and natural farming methods conserve environment and improves the health of its customers and community.

     Social responsibility; connects agribusiness and solving problems in the community.

Our goal is to transform the people’s lives through consuming or buying health food produced under project, inspiring people to engage in agribusiness which protecting environment by practicing sustainable agribusiness, which will help them in food security, fight against poverty, hunger and malnutrition.
